Daily Drawing February 23 to 29th

Here's the final set of drawings for the February drawing challenge at Creative Bug.

I think I might sign up again for March. I think my drawing has definitely improved from the stick-figures and scribbles I usually do.

Daily Drawing February 16 to 22

I'm still keeping up with the drawing challenge at Creative Bug.

We have company right now so it's really tricky to find the time.

These pages are a mix of intentional, blind contour and contour drawings.

Daily Drawing Challenge for February 1-15

I'm doing the February drawing challenge at Creative Bug and having a ball with it again.

To be honest, I don't love blind contour drawing, or contour drawing of any kind really, but I'm learning and my hand is starting to obey my brain a little better.

It's humbling sharing my practice but I also want to make sure that people see that not everyone rocks at this and that's okay too.

In the end, I want my messy, graffiti painting to improve for the discipline I'm learning here.

Watercolor Thank You Card

I think I've been drawing too much lately. When I needed a card, I grabbed a pen, water brush, scrap watercolor paper pieces (from making envelopes - but that's for a different post) and my paints.

It wasn't until I was done that I realized what a big change this was - no stamps, sprays, embellishments, stencils, stickers... just a pen and some paint.

Not that I don't LOVE all those things too :-)

Daily Drawing ChallengePart Three: Drawings 21-31

I did all 31 days of drawing in January!

Some were good, some not so good, some downright embarrassing but the habit was WONDERFUL and the practice really pushed my skills forward. So, hooray!

Now I'm going through my book and am art journaling over the pages I am not fond of. It's a terrific way to already have personal marks and writing to my art journal pages from the very base layer.

I think doing this challenge in my mixed-media journal is turning out to be a stroke of genius ;-)

(Don't mind this one, I was sick in bed with the stomach flu. Not exactly conducive to steady hands, creativity or giving a damn.)

Daily Drawing ChallengePart Two: Drawings 11-20

Here's the next set of drawings from the month of January.

Are you doing any challenges this month? Link me up, I'd love to hear about them.
