Christmas Card Set & Advent

This is another card set I made using my CupCards {to go) Holiday Kit. When you know you'll be hand delivering a christmas card it's fun  to make the envelope extra-special too.

And for advent last night we unwrapped our well-loved Yahtzee game and played a few rounds. I always feel like opening up our Yahtzee case is a lot like an archaeological dig. We never throw out the papers if there are unfilled columns left so you'll see notations like, 'Nana, Christmas '05' and such wonderful little reminders of people we love. It's neat to sift through them and find one of your own that has been used on and off for years. Brayden and I always decorate the borders or write notes on the backs.

Easy Step-By-Step Christmas Card

This card features many gorgeous goodies that came in the CupCards {to go} Holiday Kit. I broke it down step by step so you can see how it's made. Ornaments are a great way to use up brads, buttons and jewels from your stash.

Step One: Affix two different patterns as shown.

Step Two: Tie a Bow and attach ribbon over seam.

Step Three: Add green brad and ornament sticker. Attach jewels to sticker for added sparkle and dimension.

Step Four: Stick button onto a dimensional dot. Layer "love u" tag over top of tiny tag and affix to card with button. Be sure to line all this up directly above the bow so it looks like the bow is on the ornament.

Step Five: Adhere card front to red card base.

Decorate Envelope to match if you'll be hand delivering your card.

Full of Smiles: Tube Fun

When I saw the SRM mini tubes in the CupCards {to go} holiday kit, I let out a little squeal. They brought out the mad scientist in me, causing B. and I to debate which would be better, filling it with blood or poison... then we remembered that we're crafting Christmas so I headed a different direction.

 Are visions of sugar plums dancing in your head now?
They are in mine!

And see how cute the sticker on top is. Love!

Making the tube holder was way easier then it looks. I followed this tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers and got it right the first time.

Don't feel like clicking through... here you go:

CupCards {to go} Holiday Kit

The Cupcards {to go} Holiday Kit, Sugar Plum, is for sale and you're going to love the awesome range of papers and goodies in it. I had such a blast playing with  it all.

One of the things I liked most was the red card bases and envelopes. They feel so festive.

If you want to get a jump on your holiday card making this kit is just what you need :-)

Butterfies and Friendship Card

This is a card I made with the Fall CupCards {to go} kit.
The butterflies were especially fun, you just make a roll out of a strip of fabric, placing the ends at the very back, and then tie it tightly in the center with ribbon. Then fluff out each wing and secure with glue dots. The ribbon provides both the body and the antennae when you cut the ends on a thin diagonal.

Cupcake Throne

Now that you've baked my very favorite plain old cake from yesterday's post, you should create this adorable cupcake throne to give someone one of your scrumptious treats.

Jan Think posted an amazing tutorial for making a Cupcake Throne and it couldn't have been easier. I'm not the greatest with following diagrams for 3D projects and I found it very straight forward and surprisingly quick to put together.

Then I decorated the base with paper and goodies from the fall CupCards {to go} kit.

I love it when a few simple steps takes a gift from nice to extraordinary.

CupCards To Go Fall Kit: Briar Rose

The fall CupCards {to go} kit, Briar Rose, is available for purchase!

It has a gorgeous mix of contemporary and elegant papers and embellishments that are perfect for fall. I had more fun crafting with this kit then I have in a long time.

I can't wait to share with you all the cards and the project I made. If you want a preview, check out the gallery. The CC2G DT did an amazing job!

Have any of you made feathers before with patterned paper? It's easy and such an effective technique. I followed this tutorial by Karen and the results were stunning.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Friendship Scrapbook Page

Here's my layout for Sketchy Thursdays, this time they teamed up with Scrapfit and their theme is 'F is for friendship'.

This sketch really intimidated me until I thought of using mists for the burst and then it all came together.

All the embellishments are from Cupcards {to go}, you'll be seeing peeks for the fall kit very soon.

Sorry for being a hit and miss blogger, still struggling with health woes. This too shall pass :-)

Friends Card

Here's another card from the Summer CupCards {to go} kit, Boutique:

Aren't those roly rosies fun? I sprayed mine with homemade glimmer mist before rolling it up. The color was such a nice match to the paper.

Boutique is sold out now but there are still lots of other card kits still available. Click here and get your craft on :-)

~~~
On a side note, thanks everyone for bearing with me the past twelve weeks. It's just been illness followed by injury, repeat, repeat, repeat. I don't think I've had a run of bad luck like this before. Hopefully it's all behind me now and I can start recovering and getting back to making fun stuff.
CupCards {to go} Summer Kit: Boutique
I had so much fun making cards using CupCards {to go} first ever SUMMER KIT! Like WAY TOO MUCH FUN. There was Girls Paperie, Melissa Frances, Cosmo Cricket, Basic Grey... tags, ribbons, rub-ons, roly rosies. Oh my! It was like a box of inspiration. I had six cards made before I even paused to think about what to make. Which for me is unusual. Sonda is just that good :-)
Kites add a playful element to cards and they are such a summery image. To make them freehand cut the basic kite shape and then trace the first one to make three more. Don't worry about the lines being perfectly straight or symmetrical because kites bend and twist in flight. It makes them look real.
Cut two of your kites in quarters and glue two pieces on top of the base kite in alternate colors. Put your kite on a scrap piece of paper and outline your kite with a black pen (like Micron). Attach baker's twine to the back with tape and secure to your card using dimensional foam dots so the kites really look like they're flying.
Kits purchased today (July 1st) will receive a FREE floral goodie bag in their kit box, while supplies last. (includes doilie)  These are very limited and will go fast. So don't wait...get your kit now before they are gone! Kits will begin shipping on Tuesday, July 5th.
Sunshine Card
Hey everyone, just a short post today as I'm violently ill from going off the Prednisone. The doc said going from 60mgs to zero is fine... it's really not. Not at all. I actually thought I was going to end up in the hospital and if you factor in how much I hate those places... yeah... not good.
This is my last card from the June CupCards {to go} Virginia kit, but don't worry, it's only four days until the big reveal for the summer kit. Yay!
