Laura's Sketch 21

Good Monday everyone. This is my 200th blog post. I wanted to say something witty and profound but it's just not that sort of day, or for that matter, that sort of blog.

Laura at 2Sketches4You posted such a cute sketch I had to give it a try. Here's my take:

I just love with the new K and Co Daydreams paper!

This weekend I took a bold step and got rid of almost all my cardstock. I know.... SHOCKING!

Over the past four years I've belonged to several kit clubs and bought way more than my share of grab bags. I'd use up the colors I love and then store the lavenders, yellows and any muddy grey-ish colors like taupe and khaki. My stash of cardstock ended up being a sea of tepid shades and I was always running to the store for my faves. So I sorted it all, keeping only my best colors. I now have black, white, red, orange, kraft, dark brown, three blues and three greens. I made a little swatch book with those twelve colors and put it in my purse so I can purchase them as needed. You'd be amazed at how hard it is to find your favorite shade of white when presented with a wall of choices.

The way I see it, TSR will provide all the variety I need and the rest was just throwing perfectly good space after wasted money.

Anyone else doing some major purging or organizing? I'd love to hear about it.

Love the card! I spent a few hours this weekend going thru my PP and cutting up ones that I knew I wouldn't use for LOs into 6x6 size so I have them ready to make cards. I also got rid of a bunch of scraps of PP and cardstock that I know I'm never going to use. I have so much more space now.

Cute card - I especially love the sentiment. But mostly I'm here to tell you I am on a MAJOR project to simplify my life this year, and a lot of that is the craft supply stuff. Purge or USE the stuff I have, buy less, and only buy what I will use (more than once). And, I'm not allowed to buy anything new (except basics like glue) until the purge is done! Thankfully my local stamp store does a big community yard sale so a lot of stuff will go there in May, but since you mentioned kits - I have a bunch of NEVER TOUCHED (Or barely touched) SA kits. Any that you loved (even pieces of them)? I'm happy to share the love and send 'em your way - just email me if you can think of any (or all!) that you want!

I think it is fantastic that you have purged your unwanted goods - I try and do it every few months but my toss pile is way way smaller than my keep pile. I need one of those makeover shows to come in and sort for me so I don't have to decide :(
Love your swatch book idea and your happy rainbow card too :)

First of all I love the background! I try to purge all the time...I just helped my pack rat aunt get ready to move from Illinois to Georgia. She had at least 20 huge boxes just for her craft room. She filled a pod, 2 dumpsters, and the furniture is still in the house until she sells it and really does move. I never want to have that much stuff. UGH!
I clean a drawer or cupboard a day, and Spring cleaning is never a chore.
Have a great day! Great stuff on your blog to look at AGAIN! TFS!!!

I am trying to leave comment posts like you do on your card challenges. How do you place all the HTML < a href=... /a > code in the comment field? Do you just type it all in (ugh), or is their a automated copy & paste means so that I don't have to jump back and forth with Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V, type type type, etc.

By the way, Great Card!

Thanks for responding to my question yesterday. Actually my husband wrote the question. I am not technical, he is. I have just started card challenges this month after he set up my blog He is trying to figure out all the intricacies of blogs and posting. I really like your card and your sentiment and the artful way you put together the elements of your card.
